Ribbon Cutting Celebration: Nebraska Street Project

The City of Algona is proud to announce the successful completion of the Nebraska Street Project, which began in June 2025 and wrapped up in November 2025. This major investment was designed to improve infrastructure, enhance community spaces, and prepare our city for the future.

Key objectives of the project included:

• Enhancing pedestrian access throughout the corridor

• Improving parking lot flow and pavement conditions

• Implementing water quality infrastructure and reducing sewer inflow and infiltration

• Increasing water system flow capacity and replacing deteriorating infrastructure

• Creating a versatile public space for community events and celebrations

• Upgrading overall street surface conditions

This project represents a significant step forward in strengthening Algona’s infrastructure while also building a more welcoming, functional, and sustainable space for residents and visitors alike.
